1986 Peterbilt 379 Car Carrier
Most importantly, foreign car makers like Volkswagen and Nissan opened manufacturing plants in the U.S., greatly expanding the carrier business especially in the South. Peterbilt developed the Model 379 in the mid-1980's and today it still defines classic long-nose conventional styling. It was available with a wide range of suspensions, making it the most desirable car carrier of its time.
